Frequently Asked Questions

Of course! We understand you may want to judge your submissions on the exact same hardware your teams use(or just don't trust virtual machines) and that's fine with us.

Once your contest cluster is created you will be given the snippet to add to your /etc/restapi.secrets file on your judgehost. You can have as many judgehosts as you'd like.

We've done some load testing and have easily shown a single server handling around 500 teams. We automatically add additional servers as the load increases, and employ agressive caching so public scoreboard spectators won't slow your contest down.

All of our servers are located on Amazon Web Services, and will be in the us-east-1 region. We do use a global CDN(CloudFront) to make requests faster however.

Feel free to contact us if you want us to run in a region closer to you.

Each cluster once running will have the small php based mysql admin interface available on the jury pages for DOMjudge. Use this to do bulk imports of your teams or other data if necessary.

We've not noticed any significant timing differences with using virtual machines, but we gladly allow you to run your own JudgeHosts if this is a concern of yours.

In the future we hope to offer bare-metal judgehosts as an option for your contest
